Mild version: Pimenton, a Spanish specialty, is the result of long hours of smoking the dried and crushed pulp of a bell pepper over beechwood. Pimenton, a type of smoked paprika, is produced in the La Vera region of Extremadura. Its flavor is sweet, spicy with a hint of bitterness. Pimenton is the main ingredient in typical Spanish dishes: patatas bravas, patatas a la riojana, pulpo a la gallega… and other tapas. Strength 2/10 on the simplified Scoville scale.
