Favuzzi pesto is uncompromising: it contains only fresh basil, and no other fresh herbs, to reveal the authentic flavor of this iconic Italian preparation.
Unpasteurized, it retains the intensity of its beautiful dark green color specific to Genoese basil as well as all the aromatic complexity and salty taste of Parmigiano Reggiano DOP and Pecorino Romano DOP.
Its texture is pleasant, both consistent and fluid.
Uses
A staple in the Genoa region, pesto is used to season primi piatti such as gnocchi, minestrone alla genovese, a vegetable soup flavored with olive oil, risotto, or, more commonly, pasta. Allow 360g of pasta for our 180g pesto.
You can use Favuzzi pesto to make tomato and mozzarella sandwiches, summer soups, dips for zucchini or eggplant fritters, and pizza toppings.
Distinctive elements
A key ingredient in pesto recipes, basil holds a Protected Designation of Origin (DOP). The region where it grows, Liguria, has a unique microclimate characterized by the presence of sea air currents which, combined with intense sunshine, give it a harmony of aromas found in no other variety of basil. It is recognizable by its very fragrant fragrance, its slightly embossed leaves, and its perfectly uniform green color.

Genoese basil DOP 39%, extra virgin olive oil, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese DOP (milk, salt, rennet), walnuts, Pecorino cheese DOP (milk, salt, rennet), pine nuts, salt, garlic, antioxidant: ascorbic acid, acidifier: citric acid, preservative: sorbic acid.

Conservation
Once opened, cover with olive oil and store in the refrigerator. Consume within 10 days.
