Details
This variety of pepper comes from the fully ripened berries of the pepper plant. In this state, the berries have a reddish color. After harvesting, these berries are soaked and then their outer skin is rubbed off until their soft white interior is revealed. They are then dried and bleached in the sun in the same way as black pepper. This variety of pepper is also known for being milder and much less bitter than black pepper.
