The reasons for its creation
The challenge was to create an authentically Italian sauce that would win over even the most die-hard mama's boy and fill him with a sweet nostalgia in every bite! Mission accomplished.
Distinctions and special features
The quintessential Italian classic.
Simple, natural, and authentic ingredients combined with the expertise of true Italian cooks. In fact, the signature of the person who made the sauce can be found on the cap of each bottle.
The most important ingredient: the tomato. An Italian sauce is made with Italian tomatoes that have ripened under the Mediterranean sun. We use the same tomatoes you find in our canned peeled Italian tomatoes.
Production method
Favuzzi sauces are produced using traditional methods and are made in small batches of 150 kg to preserve their color and aromas. Locally sourced spices are also added, such as Sicilian oregano, Calabrian chili pepper, and Abruzzo basil and parsley.
Territory
The tomatoes are grown specifically in the towns of Gargano and Foggia, better known as the peninsula that forms the stirrup of Italy's boot on the map. Favuzzi sauces also contain datterino tomatoes, from the Campania region. Small and elongated, they resemble the shape of a date (hence their name, datterino). Harvested directly near Mount Vesuvius, it is the rich volcanic soil that gives these tomatoes their particularly mild and sweet taste.
The artisans behind this product
The small red house that produces Favuzzi sauces has belonged to the Laurentis family for two generations. In production, there's a small army of cooks busy at the stove.
Use
When you don't have time to prepare an elaborate meal, a bottle of Favuzzi sauce combined with our Italian artisan pasta will propel you to one of the best restaurants in Rome, while native Italians will remember Sunday lunches, at the table with the family.
