A Middle Eastern spice blend, used primarily for dipping pita bread with olive oil. It can also be used for cooking white meats, marinades, or grilled fish. Zahatar literally means thyme, hence its name, Aleppo thyme. Its ingredients include thyme (obviously!), green anise, coriander, cumin, sesame, and sumac.
